More Than Just A Barn

The Big Brown Barn (BBB) isn't just a place; it's an idea brought to life. It is the culmination of a lifelong dream to create a space that celebrates life's most meaningful moments while nurturing the skills and knowledge that help us build a more sustainable future.

We’ve always believed that the most memorable events and the most valuable lessons should happen in the same inspiring spaces. We saw a disconnect: beautiful venues sitting empty most of the year, while important classes were held in sterile, uninspired classrooms. We want to bridge that gap, bringing everything together under one historic roof.

That same warmth and connection also make this the ideal place to learn. Whether you are attending a workshop on sustainable gardening, learning to ferment your own foods, or crafting something beautiful from reclaimed wood, the barn’s history reminds us that every person and every skill has a story.

The rustic charm of our barn, with its soaring ceilings and warm, weathered wood, provides the perfect backdrop for weddings, graduations, or any major life celebration. It feels real, connected to the land, and—most importantly—it feels like home.

Dr. Oliver and Christine Miller purchased the historic barns in 2005.

The couple began hosting memorable events in 2015.
